I have just learned, with great sadness, of the passing of Uncle Luke Okafor. A good man has left us. He was kind and generous, gentle and humane. He wished others well. Each time I saw him, my spirits felt lifted. He was so warmly supportive of my writing. I will always remember with gratitude his support of my first published book of poems. I will always remember the affection and respect that he and my father, Professor James Adichie, had for each other. A good man has indeed left us. May his memory always be a blessing to those who loved him.
